The Canadian Media Marketplace is an annual event that brings together the media with regional and provincial tourism organizations in Canada, travel and attractions companies, and major hotels. The event takes place alternately in San Francisco and New York.

The Canadian Media Marketplace is where bloggers and content writers gather to talk about new story ideas, background and inspiration material, and also connect with the media-relations officers in Canada. It’s also where attendees establish network with other Canadian and American media. The event is filled with helpful one-to-one meeting between US Media and its partners, which leads to professional development and also interactive and entertaining opportunities to network with people of the same interests.

This year, 2015, the Canadian Media Marketplace was held on April 20 to 22 with the New York Midtown Hotel acting as the host venue. The event was a huge success and was attended by the big hitters in the industry of tourism as well as speakers from web content, and travel and experience companies.

The focus of the Professional Development Sessions for 2015’s Canadian Media Marketplace is on marketing content – the best practices in capturing, creating, and sharing of important content across different formats and multiple media channels. He used to write guidebooks for the travel site Rough Guides and also wrote for CitySearch and Frommers for many years before he co-founded Skift. His credentials make him a foremost authority in content authoring.

Bret Love, the founder and CEO of Green Travel Media as well as the Editor-in-Chief of the Green Global Traveler, is an old hand journalist who has produced content for American Way, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and even Yahoo Travel. His specialty is on stories that encourage adventurous and sustainable travelling.
